Girls Like Us, the book by Sheila Weller that covers the early careers of Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon and Carole King, is on tap to become a major motion picture from Sony and casting is underway for the three leads.
According to industry sources, Taylor Swift is on the short list for the part of Joni Mittchell. Swift has appeared in films like Valentine's Day and The Lorax and has appeared in CSI on the small screen. First impressions say that she could pull of Mitchell's general look, but her voice is a bit high when compared to Joni's.
The only other name that has been discussed is Alison Pill from Midnight in Paris as possibly taking on the King role.
John Sayles is writing the script with Katie Jacobs directing.
