Taylor Swift Kicks Off Red Tour With Short Shorts And Ed Sheeran

Swifties take note: Taylor Swift is going to shimmy, drum and hair-flip her way through her Red Tour.

The long-awaited trek kicked off Wednesday night in Omaha, Nebraska at the CenturyLink Center. Swift took the stage to perform Red tracks and old-school tunes like "Sparks Fly."

"You see, this is the part that I've been really looking forward to for a very long time because this is the part where I say to you, Omaha, Nebraska: Welcome to the very first night of the Red Tour," she told the room at the beginning of the show. The announcement was welcomed to lots of cheers from the audience.

During the show, Swift had upwards of 10 costume changes, including one look where she sported a lace top, leather shorts and red flats and another outfit where she opted for a striped T-shirt with red pants.

In footage obtained by MTV News, Swift hair flips her way through "Red," drummed her way through "Holy Ground," and rocked out on guitar during "Sparks Fly." She was later joined by tour opener Ed Sheeran for their duet, "Everything Has Changed."

She'll play Omaha again on Thursday night (March 14) before taking the show to St. Louis on Monday, March 18. The 66-show trek will run right through September 21, when she's slated to wrap it up in her homebase of Nashville.

And, for fans wondering what they might get from the show, earlier this week Swift dished on what concertgoers will see when they come see her 2013 extravaganza. "I think from the Red tour fans can expect the unexpected," she said. "I think I really like the element of surprise and I love incorporating that into the shows. I like for these tours to be completely different from every single one we've done."
