On Thursday, Taylor Swift will premiere her much-anticipated video for "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" during "MTV First: Taylor Swift" at 7:49 p.m. ET on MTV, CMT and TeenNick. For those Swift fans who can't wait that long, we have a sneak peek of the clip, and it's a party.
In the short clip, Swift rocks a flowy dress and bold red lipstick as she dances with her friends at a party. Her friends — including someone dressed in what looks like a squirrel costume — are singing along to the chorus while they throw glitter in celebration of Swift's newfound single status.
The video, which clocks in at 3:11, was directed by Declan Whitebloom, who also directed her clips for "Mean" and "Ours" and was shot with only one camera, in one continuous take.
Following the premiere of the video, Swift will join MTV News' Sway Calloway for an additional 15-minute interview on MTV.com where she will discuss the video, her album, Red, and her upcoming performance at the Video Music Awards.
"Never Ever" is already breaking records, becoming the biggest digital sales single in a week by a woman with 623,000 paid downloads. The song is the first off of Swift's upcoming fourth studio album, which hits stores October 22.
"When I was coming up with the name for this album it seemed crazy because it was really simple," Swift said recently during a YouTube chat with fans. "I wrote a song called 'Red' and thinking about what that song means to me and all the different emotions on this album. They're all pretty much about the tumultuous, crazy, insane, intense, semi-toxic relationships I've experienced in the last two years and all those emotions fanning from intense love, intense frustration, intense jealousy, confusion, all of that in my mind, all those emotions are red. There's nothing in between, there's nothing beige about those feelings and so I called my record that."
Next up for Swift, she will hit the Video Music Awards stage on September 6 to debut a new song off of Red.
