Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj and Linkin Park are all joining the American Music Awards party, as they've been added to the list of performers for the 40th annual show, set to air live Sunday, November 18 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
The trio will join previously announced performer Christina Aguilera on the show, with additional performers and presenters set to be revealed in the coming weeks. Minaj and Rihanna lead star-packed field of AMA nominees with four nods apiece, followed closely by Drake, Justin Bieber, Maroon 4 and One Direction with three. Chris Brown, Fun. and Gotye are also in the running with two nominations.
AMA noms are based on broadcast airplay and online popularity, the latter of which will certainly play a big role in determining just who wins: Fans can vote for their favorites in all 20 categories (including Artist of the Year, Favorite Male and Female Artist and Favorite Band, Duo or Group) through AMAVote.com and AMA.abc.com.
The 40th annual American Music Awards will be broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on November 18 on 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. The red carpet pre-show will stream online through ABC.com (in addition to Livestream, Ustream and YouTube) beginning at 5 p.m. ET (2 p.m. PT).
