The country music singer reaches the landmark age on December 13 and is looking forward to celebrating her special day this weekend. Taylor has previously revealed she is planning to host a winter-themed party for her close friends and family, but won’t be going out to a wild nightspot.
“I’m not, by nature, a party girl,” she told People magazine. "It'll be cool that I'll be able to go to a lot of concerts that my friends always go to and I sit at home because it's 21 and over. Other than that, I don't think I'm going to all of a sudden start being in love with the idea of going to a club."
Taylor – who has been romantically linked to Jake Gyllenhaal recently - went on to reveal she wants to hold a birthday party in her home, saying it would be “wonderful” to have a Christmas theme to the festivities.
Although she is looking forward to having fun in the next few days, Taylor doesn’t plan to consume too much alcohol once she reaches the legal drinking age in America.
“I like to dance around and have fun with my friends and we have a blast, but I've never felt really compelled to be drunk and I don't think that's terribly awful," she explained. "But I'm not one of those people who are never going to have a drink."
