Taylor Swift goes to her "wise" younger brother when she needs advice.
The country singer is known for opening up about her relationships through candid song lyrics, such as her latest hit We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.
Other than through her songs, the 22-year-old rarely talks about her private life publicly, and instead confides in her brother Austin, who is two years her junior.
"I have my girlfriends and we talk about everything. But one person who I go to for advice, who is a guy, is my brother," she explained to Australian radio hosts Kyle and Jackie O.
"He gives me really straightforward advice. Nine times out of ten, when I say, 'What should I do?' he says, 'Well, what do you want to do?' That answer is always really easy; what you want to do is what you should do. He's younger, it's so weird, he's so wise!"
Taylor has had her share of tumultuous relationships in the past, including a brief romance with bad boy musician John Mayer.
Despite speculations the track Dear John from her 2010 album Speak Now is about her ex, Taylor prefers to keep the subject of her songs private.
"It's my one thing that I have; my one card that I hold is who the songs are actually about," she revealed.
"Everybody can make their own guesses, or they can think about their ex boyfriend when they sing it, or wonder about which one of my exes it's about. As long as they are listening to the song and paying attention to the lyrics."
Taylor, who is now loved up with Conor Kennedy, is currently promoting her new album Red.
