Taylor Swift is choosing to Speak Now, instead of forever holding her peace today! Her album is out right now and it's shaping up to be an "event" in the music industry. Swift is America's sweetheart, and rightfully so.
She is just 20-years-old and she's one of the biggest things happening in music. But make no mistake, the girl has an old soul. She's wise beyond her years. Check out our exclusive video interview with the lovely and talented Miss Swift right now. I am going to go on record and predict that Speak Now will be one of the top albums of 2010.
In the clip, Swift talks about the camaraderie that she has with her band and crew while on the road and on tour. She even goes as far as to say that she and her band members are "obsessed" with each other, so much so that they hang out with each other while off the road. Swift also talks about the "T Party" that she hosted after shows, on her "Fearless" tour. She dubs it the "backstage oasis/living room" and says that it was hideaway at every show! She would do her traditional meet and greets pre-show, go play her show and then do a surprise meet and greet for people randomly selected from crowd by her mom or one of her assistants. Taylor Swift's assistant is a job I'd like to have. She seems so down to earth and sweet.
Swift's mom and assistants choosing fans to come backstage is the complete opposite of what happens at rock 'n' roll shows, where the bands send roadies out into the audience to find hot chicks! Taylor Swift's brand of fun is much more wholesome but just as enjoyable.
Swift also talks about writing and recording processes, about how she would demo songs on acoustic guitar with a bass track and programmed drums, offering a bit of an inside look into her creativity. She also talks about playing for 40,000 fans in Japan, among other assorted topics.
