With less than two weeks to go until the 2012 Video Music Awards, the special announcements surrounding the show are coming at fans fast and furiously. The latest news: as part of our pre-VMA festivities, previously announced performer Taylor Swift will premiere "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" on "MTV First: Taylor Swift."
The Red singer is taking to the airwaves Thursday, August 30 at 7:49 p.m. ET on MTV, CMT and TeenNick to premiere the highly anticipated music video. And one week later, Swift will perform the song live on the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards on Thursday, September 6 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT from Staples Center in Los Angeles.
During "MTV First: Taylor Swift," the six-time Grammy winner will exclusively sit down with MTV News' Sway Calloway to introduce her never-before-seen music video. Immediately following, Swift will stay on for an additional 15-minute interview on MTV.com where she will talk about her album, upcoming VMA and VH1 Storytellers performances and much more. At 8:00 p.m. ET, the "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" music video will digitally debut on MTV.com, VH1.com and CMT.com.
Fun fact about the 3:11-long music video, it was shot in one continuous take, with one camera ... no edits! Swift re-teamed with director Declan Whitebloom for the shoot — he also directed her clips for "Mean" and "Ours."
