Taylor Swift is never ever getting back together with her mystery ex, but she still has a thing for the Video Music Awards: Swift will hit the VMA stage Thursday, September 6, to bring you the debut live performance of a new song from her upcoming fourth studio album Red.
Swift joins previously announced performers Green Day, Pink, Alicia Keys and One Direction for the Kevin Hart-hosted show.
In addition to Swift's surefire crowd-pleaser, we can also reveal the first batch of can't-miss presenters: Best Pop Video nominee Wiz Khalifa, singing/acting megastar Miley Cyrus, Pittsburgh rapper Mac Miller and Olympic gold-medal-winning gymnasts Gabby Douglas, Jordyn Wieber, Aly Raisman, McKayla Maroney and Kyla Ross, a.k.a. the Fierce Five. Be on the lookout for more presenters to be announced in the coming weeks!
Swift's Red album drops October 22. The first single, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," is already climbing the Billboard Hot 100 and is on track to break sales and download records.
"When I was coming up with the name for this album, it seemed crazy because it was really simple," Swift said. "I wrote a song called 'Red,' and thinking about what that song means to me and all the different emotions on this album they're all pretty much about the tumultuous, crazy, insane, intense, semi-toxic relationships I've experienced in the last two years and all those emotions fanning from intense love, intense frustration, intense jealousy, confusion, all of that in my mind, all those emotions are red. There's nothing in between, there's nothing beige about those feelings and so I called my record that."
