The Vaccines have announced details of the release of a new single. Teenage Icon will be released through Columbia Records on Sunday September 2nd 2012.
The single is taken from their forthcoming 11-track second album, The Vaccines Come Of Age, which is released on September 3rd. The first single from the album, No Hope, was released in early July.
The single was recorded during the album sessions at the ICP studios in Brussels and Distillery in Bath with producer Ethan Johns.
It will be available as a 4-track digital EP featuring the B-Side Panic Attack, written by Justin, alongside a demo and a live version of Teenage Icon recorded at the Brighton Centre on May 7th 2012. The single will also be available as a limited 7" featuring Teenage Icon and Panic Attack.
The Vaccines Come Of Age follows their platinum selling, Brit nominated and NME award winning debut, What Did You Expect From The Vaccines? which was released in March 2011.
Having completed a sold-out UK arena tour of seaside towns in the U.K. in May, this summer the band have already headlined the 2nd stage at the Field Day Festival, played the main stages at the T in the Park and Isle Of Wight Festivals and supported the Stone Roses at Heaton Park.
They head over to Europe for a run of festival performances & support slots with the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and also play shows in Russia, Japan and South Korea before returning to the U.K. in late August where they appear on the main stage at the Reading / Leeds Festival.
