BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge 2012 is the hugely anticipated annual round-up of the cream of the past year's Live Lounge sessions, featuring a who's who of music.
With artists including Emeli Sandé, Lana Del Rey, Rita Ora, Plan B, The Vaccines, Mumford & Sons and more, performing stripped down versions of the biggest hits of the year, this is a must have for music connoisseurs of all genres.
The seventh volume in the incredibly successful series includes debuts from this year's breakthrough artists Fun. ('We Are Young'), Alex Clare ('Too Close') and Ben Howard's take on the massive No.1 from Carly Rae Jepsen, 'Call Me Maybe'. It also features Florence + The Machine covering Drake & Rihanna's 'Take Care', Olly Murs' smashing David Guetta and Usher's 'Without You' and Jessie J belting out her worldwide hit 'Domino'.
The Live Lounge series has sold 2.8 million albums to date. The first Live Lounge sessions started 11 years ago on Jo Whiley's BBC Radio 1 show, and they are still going strong today under the watchful eye of Fearne Cotton's mid-morning BBC Radio 1 show, attracting performances from the best acts in the world. The bands and artists usually perform one of their own hits, and then a cover version - often with a twist on the original, but always creating something truly special.
BBC RADIO 1's LIVE LOUNGE 2012 is released by Sony Music on 29th October 2012 on 2CD and download.
