With all the excitement surrounding Mariah Carey joining "American Idol," it only seems fitting that "The Voice" would tease us with their newest addition as well.
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Rob Thomas is the latest musician to join the NBC singing competition for its third season this September.
The Matchbox Twenty frontman will be teaming up with Cee Lo Green as a mentor, assisting the "Forget You" singer with his contestants by giving them feedback and advice before performances.
And while it sounds as though Florida native Thomas is a done deal, Green recently admitted to having a California Gurl on his original wish list.
"I think [Katy Perry is] touring at the moment or either just exhausted from touring for the last four years," Green told on the set of his new movie "Can a Song Save Your Life?" "I actually reached out to her but she wasn't available."
Another consideration? Someone who might turn Green a little pink.
"I would love to work with Nicki [Minaj] too; Nicki is a friend of mine," Green replied, when asked if he'd ever consider working with the "Starships" singer. "If she's up to do it, I'd do it with her too."
While NBC has not announced the mentor for Christina Aguilera's team, we do know Mary J. Blige and Michael Bublé have climbed aboard "The Voice" bandwagon to work with Adam Levine and Blake Shelton's team, respectively.
