Oprah Winfrey's OWN Network is producing a film on the life of singer Darlene Love and producers have selected Darlene Love for the title role.
My Name is Love: The Darlene Love Story is currently set for a December premier and will be written by Morgan Neville who directed Twenty Feet From Stardom, the Academy Award winning documentary about backup singers, including Love.
The film will cover Love's life from her days with Phil Spector. The big question about the film is whether the makers will be able to use any of the great hits that Love sang for Spector and his Philles label as the two have been at odds for many years. Even though he is jail for murder, Spector still controls his music and may be vindictive.
My Name is Love: The Darlene Love Story is the first original movie being made by the four-year-old network.
