Big Sean would rather be in a "productive" relationship than chat girls up in clubs.
The 26-year-old rapper started dating singer Ariana Grande, 21, last year. Prior to that, he was in a long-term relationship with his high-school sweetheart until 2013, before dating and finally proposing to actress Naya Rivera. Their union ended in April last year, around four months before rumours about him and Ariana began circling.
When it comes to romance, Sean has always favoured serious girlfriends.
"Yeah, I'm more of a relationship type of guy. I've been single too, but even when I'm single, I don't be out there like that. I'm not the type of guy to be all up in the clubs or sh*t," he explained to gq.com.
"I'd rather be with someone and do something productive together. I'm getting older, so we gotta, like, learn something. We can't let the Internet fry our brains. We've gotta read and learn."
To keep centred, Sean meditates every day, but insists he makes time for lots of "fun" too.
Ariana has had to deal with plenty of gossip insisting she's a bit of a diva, but her beau insists it's their shared strong-mindedness that keeps them going.
"The thing I find most attractive is a woman with her own drive and own goals. It's never about egos. It's just about what we share - that focus. When you have someone that understands what you've got going on, it's awesome," he gushed.
Sean got his big break when he turned up at a radio station and spontaneously freestyled for Kanye West, whod been attending an interview there. The star was initially reluctant to listen to this young hopeful but was so impressed, he eventually signed him.
It's made Sean open to doing the same for up-and-coming rappers now.
"[I listen to them] all the time. There's been a few good ones, a lot of bad ones. Look, not everyone is made to be a rapper, but everyone is made to be happy, so do whatever you makes you happy," he reasoned.
