Big Sean and Ariana Grande most certainly have chemistry together—both in and out of the studio.
The 26-year-old rapper, whose highly anticipated album Dark Sky Paradise is set for release on Tuesday, stopped by E! News today ahead of the record's debut (tune in to E! News tonight for more, including scoop on his Grammys night with Grande!) where he opened up about his forthcoming music and gushed over his gorgeous girlfriend, with whom he recorded his latest single, "Research."
"It's cool though, because that song isn't about me and her situation," the Detroit native said of the tune, in which he raps, "Girl, I know you did your research / Well, s--t I did too / I saw you wearingDrake's chain like you were part of his crew / I saw you chillin' with Meek Mill at the Summer Jam ohh / I hope my eye's the one that's lying to me and you."
"We were both able to just put our situation set aside and just be artists and, you know, be creative," he said. "Because that's real situations people go through and sometimes it's just about making music that people can relate to."
The musician added of the "Break Free" beauty, whom he has been dating since August: "So…I really appreciate her for doing it."
"Research" is the third time Big Sean and Ariana have teamed up in the studio. The rapper previously appeared on Grande's "Right There," as well as the more recent "Big Mistake."
As for whether Sean, whose palKanye West serves as the executive producer of his album, has plans to collaborate again with his ladylove?
"Yeah, of course, I think so!" he said before adding with a smile, "I'm down, you gotta ask her, though."
You hear that, Ariana?!
