Christina Aguilera blames faltering career for marriage split

And she says he did not let her concentrate on her music, according to a US report.

A source said: 'She feels that he held her back when she wanted to focus more on her career.'

Pals say the lukewarm response to her last album, Bionic, also played a part in the break-up.

She told friends she was 'upset and frustrated' when the record bombed - selling just over 200,000 copies in the first five weeks of release.

Aguilera, 29, jetted to Hawaii this week after filing for divorce from her husband of five years.

The pair have a two-year-old son, Max. They are said to have lived apart for months before making the split official.

Less than a year ago, the blonde Grammy winner gushed that she felt 'blessed' in her union with 33-year-old Bratman.

They met in 2002 when he was a producer on one of her albums, and tied the knot in 2005.
