The singer confirmed her relationship with music producer Jordan was over last week, and filed for divorce several days later. The pair met in 2002 and tied the knot three years later, and have two-year-old son Max together. They have vowed to stay close for the sake of their son, and it has now been claimed there was no big event which lead to their split, rather they simply grew apart.
“They started rowing and over the last six months the spark slowly disappeared,” a source told Look magazine. “It became clear they were more like friends than husband and wife.”
The pair are said to be devastated by the end of their marriage. Christina is now getting used to balancing parenthood with her career, something she is finding very hectic.
“Christina and Jordan will always have a lot of love for each other,” the source added. “They simply drifted apart as a couple, but not as friends. They will always be close.”
