Aguilera filed for divorce last week from music executive Jordan Bratman, with whom she has a son, after five years of marriage.
"It's not easy. Thankfully, I have my mum and a small group of close friends who are there for me 24/7 and whom I can trust and depend on," Aguilera told Redbook.
"On days when it feels impossible to even get out of bed, much less function as a mother, their support and encouragement have kept me moving forward."
The pop star cites 'irreconcilable differences' in her divorce petition filed in Los Angeles.
According to the divorce papers the couple have a 'prenup' agreement in place.
The court petition asks that 'Earnings and accumulations of [Aguilera] before marriage, during marriage and from and after the date of separation' be regarded as separate property.
Aguilera also wants to end music executive Bratman's ability to claim spousal support from his soon-to-be ex-wife.
