The 29-year-old singer and actress said it was 'huge' to be able to pick the Oscar-winner's brains and that the two even struck up a friendship.
She told Access Hollywood, 'To get advice from such a veteran in the business and such a strong woman - who doesn't beat around the bush, who won't give a compliment unless she really means it - was huge to me and for me.
'And it was nice walking away with a friend in Cher, you know? It's nice!'
The one-time Mousketeer added that she is ready to embark on a new part of her life after splitting with husband Jordan Bratman.
'I'm looking forward to the movie coming out, and this entire next chapter in my whole life, I really couldn't be more excited,' she added.
