After semi-nude photos of Christina Aguilera leaked online Wednesday, the star's rep has issued a strongly-worded statement saying that the images were "personal" and promising to "aggressively" pursue the hackers who obtained them.
"The photos of Christina Aguilera being leaked to the press were illegally obtained by a hacker who tapped into Christina's personal stylist's account," Aguilera's spokesperson told UsMagazine.com. "The photos were taken in the privacy of Ms. Aguilera's home and were used only in a personal exchange between the star and her stylist."
The leaked images show Aguilera modeling several revealing looks, including a see-through white T-shirt, a slinky robe and bejeweled pasties. It is not known when the photographs were taken.
"We find the actions of the hackers and the press who purchased and/or obtained these photos to be irresponsible and actionable," the rep continued. "We are attempting to determine the identity of the hackers and will pursue them aggressively. Their conduct is reprehensible."
Aguilera who filed for divorce from her husband Jordan Bratman in October, most recently starred in the film "Burlesque" and is now dating Matthew Rutler, who worked as a set assistant on the film.
