The Burlesque star openly held hands with Matthew Rutler, who worked on production of the film, as they left a hotel in Los Angeles before the American Music Awards.
The singer and actress, who announced her split from husband Jordan Bratman last month, said that sometimes change has to happen.
She told The Sun, 'I'm doing good. I'm doing really, really good.
'Sometimes change is necessary. I'm entering a whole different chapter in my life now with the movie and my son and being a mother.
'It's the next evolution in my life, and it feels good, it feels really good.'
The 29-year-old is believed to have struck up a friendship with Matthew on set before romance blossomed following the announcement of her impending divorce.
