Rockstar Games have confirmed that Grand Theft Auto III will be released for iOS and Android on December 15, as part of the franchise's tenth anniversary celebrations.
GTA III revolutionised gaming when it was released in 2001, marking Rockstar's first entry into a 3D open world, giving gamers a chance to experience Liberty City in all its glory.
The game will be available on both smartphones and tablets, which in the case of Apple means iPhone 4 or above.
On Android, the game can be downloaded on the HTC Rezound, LG Optimus 2X, Motorola Atrix 4G, Motorola Droid X2, Motorola Photon 4G, Samsung Galaxy R and T-Mobile G2x.
Upon its release, Grand Theft Auto III will cost £2.99.
