Gwyneth Paltrow admitted she likes to drink `a lot`

In an interview with US late night talk show host Chelsea Handler, the usually reserved actress was asked if she drinks 'regularly'.

'A lot,' Paltrow replied, enthusiastically, to cheers from the audience.

'I like red wine, it's my favourite. But I will drink white, rose... Guinness is my favourite beer. I like a dirty martini, vodka martini... I will drink whatever!'

The actress plays a country singer struggling with addiction in upcoming film Country Strong, which is generating Oscar buzz.

But she said she had to go to reformed addict and Iron Man co-star Robert Downey Jr to understand the character.

She said: 'It's actually really challenging. I didn't understand how you could do something so crazy one night and wreck lives in your wake then wake up and kind of expect to be back to normal.

'I actually emailed Robert Downey Jr... I was like 'please explain to me addiction' and he wrote the most amazing email and it really helped me.'
