Gwyneth Paltrow thinks it "helps" to have husband Chris Martin around when it comes to performing.
The Hollywood actress has turned her hand to singing of late, starring in musical film Country Stong and performing live at the Country Music Awards last year.
Gwyneth has also appeared on hit music comedy series Glee as singing teacher Holly Holliday.
The star's husband Chris is the frontman of British band Coldplay, and she says it's handy having him around for words of advice.
"Of course it helps to have someone in the family who knows something about performing, but I called some of my singer friends like Faith Hill and Beyoncé [Knowles] and I watched a lot of DVDs and studied their performances and those of a lot of different female country stars," she told the UK edition of OK! magazine.
Gwyneth has considered recording a whole album of country hits. However, she is put off by a number of factors.
"It would take a lot of preparation, although I'm really getting into singing and I did an episode of Glee where I got to sing quite a bit," she explained.
"It's something I'm thinking about but I'll probably chicken out."
