Gwyneth Paltrow, who once claimed religion is the cause of all the problems in the world, will bring up her children in a Jewish environment.
The Hollywood actress and her husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, have pledged to raise their children in the Jewish religion following Gwyneth's involvement on hit show Who Do You Think You Are, which traces the ancestry of someone in each episode. Gwyneth - whose mother Blythe Danner was Christian and her dad, Bruce Paltrow, Jewish - discovered that her family came from a host of influential rabbis in Europe.
She made her commitment to immerse seven-year old Apple and five-year-old Moses in a Jewish environment at a London event, which was hosted by a Jewish charity.
It is something of a turnaround from Gwyneth.
' don't believe in religion. I believe in spirituality. Religion is the cause of all the problems in the world,' she once claimed.
While Chris comes from a Christian background and Gwyneth still studies Kabbalah, a Jewish expert told The Daily Mail that Gwyneth might just be exposing her children to just some of the religion.
'Miss Paltrow may just want to follow traditions that she did as a child, like observing the Sabbath, keeping a kosher home and celebrating holidays,' the expert reasoned to the publication.
