Jessica Simpson is building a basement recording studio in preparation for her music comeback.
The 35-year-old shot to fame with the release of her single I Wanna Love You Forever in 1999, but about 10 years ago she decided to step away from music to focus on her very successful fashion and beauty lines.
However Jessica is planning to record new songs soon, with her last album Happy Christmas having been released in 2010 and her prior offering Do You Know hitting shelves in 2008.
"That's how I started; that's always [been] one of my biggest passions in the world. I love to use my voice," she gushed during an interview with America's Today show, noting her home recording studio will be complete next month. "Then I'm down in my basement recording. I'm sure my kids will completely take over."
Jessica shares three-year-old daughter Maxwell and two-year-old son Ace with husband Eric Johnson.
The tots are growing up quickly and Jessica is eager to share her musical passion with them, especially since they are developing very big personality traits at the moment.
"Maxwell is a great big sister. She's at that age where she's rolling her eyes at Ace a little bit," Jessica shared.
When Jessica was married to ex-husband Nick Lachey, the pair starred in MTV reality show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica from 2003 to 2005.
But even though she is returning to the music industry, the stunning blonde would never consider doing reality TV again.
"That's very rear view [mirror]," Jessica said. "Having a camera on me at all times, I mean we all know I stick my foot in my mouth a little bit too much."
