Jessica Simpson had a night out to try and take her mind off her missing dog.
The singer-and-actress was taken to Californian eatery Vino by best friend Ken Paves to cheer her up after her beloved pooch Daisy was taken by a coyote.
A source told X17online: "Jessica didn't appear to be in the best of moods. It looked like she was having a heart-to-heart with her pal Ken. And they were certainly enjoying the wine!"
Jessica, 29, revealed last week she had seen Daisy taken by the wild animal as she looked on, but is refusing to give up hope of finding her pet alive.
She wrote on her Twitter page: "Still holding out hope despite the a*sholes that say is it a dumb thing to do. Daisy is my baby... why would I stop searching? I'm a mom. (sic)"
Jessica and her family have even mocked up a poster of Daisy - who is a malti-poo, a cross between a Maltese and a Poodle - in a desperate bid to locate her.
The document includes a picture of Daisy and a banner reading: "I miss my mommy, Daisy."
It details a special email address so anyone with information can get in touch.
Last month, Jessica blogged about Daisy's sexual orientation, saying she had found happiness with a female hound called Bella.
She wrote on Twitter: "Daisy and her best friend Bella back together again. Lesbian lovas forever! (sic)"
