Jessica Simpson feels "really ready" to hold her baby.
The singer-and-actress is expecting her first child with her fiancé Eric Johnson. Their daughter will be born within the next few weeks and Jessica is looking forward to the pregnancy being over.
"I can't wait to just hold her in my arms," she told the American edition of OK! magazine. "At this point, I am really ready."
The 31-year-old star has astounded her friends with how maternal she has become. Those close to her have no doubt she will be a brilliant mom when the time comes.
"Jessica is going to be the most unbelievable mother - she's taken to it like a duck to water," one pal said.
The star has been chatting to her baby during her whole pregnancy and also sings to her. Recent reports suggested Jessica has also penned a song for her unborn baby.
She and Eric have already chosen the name Maxwell for their little girl, which they are thought to have had etched on some clothing items.
Jessica's sister Ashlee Simpson already has three-year-old son Bronx. She has been in Australia recently, but has promised to be present for Jessica's birth.
Jessica is reportedly spending $2 million around the time she gives birth to her first child to make sure everything goes smoothly.
According to In Touch she is splashing out $500,000 on a birthing suite, $100,000 on food and room service, $14,500 on a crib and nearly $70,000 on a private jet for a possible trip back home to Texas.
