Jessica Simpson expects her new reality TV show to be a "wild ride".
The 'With You' singer will travel the world with a friend to find out what is deemed beautiful for VH1's 'The Price of Beauty' and says it will be interesting to see the pressures women are put under to look good.
The blonde star - who was criticised for her seemingly fuller figure earlier this year - said: "I have always believed that beauty comes from within and confidence will always make a woman beautiful, but I know how much pressure
some women put on themselves to look perfect.
"I am really looking forward to discovering how beauty is perceived in different cultures and participating in some of the crazy things people do to feel beautiful. I know we will all learn a lot on this journey and I am so excited that VH1 is coming along on what I'm sure will be a wild ride."
Friends say Jessica - who starred in MTV's 'Newlyweds' with ex-husband Nick Lachey - is looking forward to her return to reality television.
One said: "Jessica is so excited to start shooting the show. She has been doing research into some of the insane things people do to try to make themselves more beautiful and she is shocked. She thinks it will be fun to try some of them."
Filming starts next month, with the show set to be aired next year.
