Joel Madden has wished My Chemical Romance good luck.
The rock band - which consisted of Gerard Way, Ray Toro, Mikey Way and Frank Iero - announced they have decided to go their separate ways over the weekend.
Fans worldwide mourned the split, including Good Charlotte singer Joel.
"Respect to My Chem - Great band full of Great Dudes. I will miss hearing new music from these guys. I have been a fan since back in the day. Good luck for the future boys. (sic)," he wrote on Twitter.
My Chemical Romance announced the split on their website, thanking fans for their support.
Since forming in 2001 the band have released four albums but hadn't brought out any new music since 2010.
"Being in this band for the past 12 years has been a true blessing," the statement said.
"We've gotten to go places we never knew we would. We've been able to see and experience things we never imagined possible... Thanks for all of your support, and for being part of the adventure."
The news came after lead singer Gerard claimed he would never be able to leave the group.
In February last year he gushed about the band's experiences.
"Going on ten years now we love being in the band. It's something you can never leave or escape or get away from, and that's a great thing," he claimed at the time.
