Joel Madden has joked bath and bedtime is renamed "meltdown hour" in his house.
The rock star has four-year-old daughter Harlow and son Sparrow, two, with his wife Nicole Richie.
Joel enjoys updating his Twitter followers on his home life and has given then an insight into what his kids love and loathe.
"Dinner bath and bedtime in the Madden house otherwise known As meltdown hour... (sic)," he wrote on Twitter.
Joel also spoke about more serious matters on the social networking website.
Stars Chris Brown and Drake were allegedly involved in a brawl in a New York City nightclub earlier this week, which left Chris with a laceration on his chin. His bodyguard Big Pat was hospitalised after suffering a wound to the head.
Chris has spoken to police about the incident and it's thought both men's entourages were also involved. The two hip-hop stars are known to have a fraught relationship, with claims Rihanna had a romance with Drake while she was dating Chris.
Joel has seemingly been following the story, leading him to question how rap stars are perceived by the public.
"Why the Rap Game filled w/ so much hate & negativity when Hiphop Artists individually are the most motivated positive people i ever met..SMH (sic)," he wrote.
Chris has also been using Twitter, sending a message to his wounded bodyguard. "Big Pat! Real N***a... Love you boy (sic)!" he wrote.
Joel always seems cheerful on the social networking website and often offers advice to his fans. He thinks being happy is important, even though he has been criticised for being too optimistic.
"Sometimes I am Positive and people hate it. But more times than not, people smile & laugh along w/ me. I have got to keep my PMA all day (sic)," he said.
