Singer John Legend is anxious about whether he and wife Chrissy Teigen will be good parents.
The superstar couple announced it is expecting its first child in October (15) after supermodel Chrissy previously revealed they were struggling to conceive, and now John, 36, admits he is nervous about being a first-time dad.
"I really hope we'll be good parents!" he told People magazine. "I hope our child will be kind and smart and awesome in every way. Hopefully we'll do the best job we can."
The singer and Chrissy tied the knot in September 2013 in Como, Italy, after six years of dating and, ever the romantic, John wrote his hit single All of Me for his wife.
Two years on from their nuptials, the star is just as deeply in love with his wife as he was on their wedding day, and their future offspring has cemented that bond.
"It is pretty exciting that I'll have a little child running around that is the product of the love that Chrissy and I have for each other," he added.
John may have penned a song for his spouse, but he isn't sure if he will produce an album's worth of material for his little one just yet.
"I haven't thought about that," he laughed, "but I'm just going to follow my muse where it takes me."
However Chrissy did recently confirm that her husband had written one song for their baby.
"A few years ago, a lot of people were writing songs when they got pregnant and he was like, 'I just feel like I'm not gonna be that guy, I'm not gonna write a song,'" she said on her U.S. talk show FabLife. "(He said), 'I think Stevie (Wonder), wrote Isn't She Lovely? How can you do anything better than that? I'm just not gonna be that guy'. And then yesterday he texted me, 'Writing a song for our baby!'"
