John Legend is going on paternity leave once his baby daughter makes her arrival.
The 37-year-old singer is expecting his first child with wife Chrissy Teigen, with the model nearing the end of her pregnancy. Once their little girl enters the world, John is planning on taking a break from the industry to fully focus on being a father.
"I think paternity leave is good," he told E! News. "I think it's good for me to be home with Chrissy and helping her with whatever she needs. And I want to get to know our little baby!"
Paternity leave in America differs from state to state, however All of Me singer John didn't specify how long he is hoping to take off.
He did add though: "It'll be interesting to see how we discover the work-life balance now that we've had a baby."
Despite the impending arrival of their little one, John and Chrissy have yet to decide on a name for their daughter. However, John insisted he's not worried about clashing with his wife over the moniker, as they generally have very similar tastes in life.
"We're thinking about it all the time, the baby names," he said. "We both have opinions, and we agree on a lot of things so it's just a matter of when we see her.
"Our taste is very similar about a lot of things, though, like when we're decorating the house, it's similar; when we decide what we're going to eat, it's similar. So I think baby names, it isn't that different."
The singer comes across as laidback, and that's how he'll approach fatherhood - dealing with whatever happens in the best way possible.
"I feel like, my mentality is just to be open and ready to help with whatever I can," he added. "And to be as loving to my wife and to our daughter as much as possible."
