Soul star John Legend treated his model wife Chrissy Teigen to an early birthday surprise by serenading her at a New York City bash on Saturday (28Nov15).
The Sports Illustrated beauty turns 30 on Monday (30Nov15), but she, along with her family and friends, enjoyed a night out at the Comedy Cellar venue in the Big Apple.
In an Instagram video posted by Chrissy's friend and celebrity publicist Simon Huck, John is seen onstage leading the crowd in singing Happy Birthday to his wife, as a large cake is brought out in front of the model, who is pregnant with their first child.
In addition, John also organised a surprise performance by comedian Dave Chapelle, who took over the microphone to do a stand-up comedy set.
The couple announced that it was expecting its first child last month (Oct15) after Chrissy had previously admitted that they were struggling to conceive.
Both stars are extremely excited about their impending arrival, and Chrissy also shared on her U.S. talk show FABLife that her husband had already started writing songs for their unborn baby.
"A few years ago, a lot of people were writing songs when they got pregnant and he was like, 'I just feel like I'm not gonna be that guy, I'm not gonna write a song,'" she said. "(He said), 'I think Stevie (Wonder), wrote Isn't She Lovely?, how can you do anything better than that? I'm just not gonna be that guy.' And then yesterday he texted me, 'Writing a song for our baby!'."
John and Chrissy began dating in 2007 and tied the knot in a romantic ceremony in 2013.
