Having just been announced to play the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury 2013 and the release of her new single, 'That's Alright', Laura Mvula announces her UK and Ireland tour, kicking off in Edinburgh on 30th September.
Laura's new single, 'That's Alright'released on 5th May is taken from her first album,'Sing to the Moon', which debuted in the top 10 official UK album chart when released in March.
Laura has had an incredible start to the year - having just finished touring with Jessie Ware and making her mark at SXSW, she's due to start her own sold-out regional tour in April and support Paloma Faith in June - not bad for a former supply teacher from Birmingham.
The classically trained, singer-songwriter's music fuses orchestral soul with velvety harmonies and emotional vocals giving nods to Nina Simone, George Gershwin and Björk amongst others. A graduate from the Birmingham Conservatoire with a degree in composition, the 26-year-old is a unique collision of her Caribbean background and classical music.
As one of the most exciting new musical talents to come out of the UK, this young lady deserves every bit of attention that she gets.
