Big Sean Brings Out Kanye West, Pusha T & More in NYC

Hip-hop adoring masses piled into NYC venue Irving Plaza last night (June 21) to catch a glimpse of Kanye West's protégé, Big Sean. The 23 yr. old stormed onto the stage to Ye's "All of the Lights" Remix, which features Sean, himself, Drake, and Lil Wayne. Big Sean blazed through a bevy of notable tracks, bringing out talented friends such as Chiddy Bang ("Too Fake"), Pusha T (for his own track, "My God"), and Say It Ain't Tone. Tone ripped through his mixtape favorite, "My Closet," before becoming Sean's hypeman for the night.

Other highlights included Sean's ode to the derrière "Dance (A$$),"Gang Bang," feauring Wiz Khalifa, unfortunately not present, and the schmaltzy "Memories," all of which the rapper performed with an admirable passion.

Although Big Sean lost the crowd a few times with long pauses and stories of his road to success, any dips in liveliness were entirely forgotten when Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On" began to play. An obvious precursor to Big Sean's new Kanye West and Roscoe Dash assisted track, "Marvin Gaye & Chardonnay," the room quickly tensed up.

Would Mr. West show to lend his verse to Big Sean's track? The rap gods heard our prayers. Ye' burst onto the stage to a thunderous applause, creating a dynamic betwen both that is reminiscent of Kanye West's "Big Brother" relationship with Jay-Z, who was in attendance. Big Sean closed the night with "My Last," feeding off the energy Kanye had left on stage.

But it was what Kanye said after his room-rattling performance that took the cake as the best moment of the night. "This reminds me of when we did "The College Dropout" shows... I just really appreciate all ya'll for coming out and supporting Big Sean at the start of a brand new movement," Kanye professed.
