The Britain's Got Talent judge was introduced to the game by Hayley Roberts, 31, who he met during the show's auditions in Cardiff. He has been raving about his new passion to her family back in the States.
Hoff told The Sun, 'I love rugby! Soccer is a bit boring for me but this game is off the hook. It is nuts. I was on the phone to my dad telling him about it.'
The 58-year-old added that he is still struggling to understand people in the Mumbles area of Swansea, near Hayley's home.
'I was like, 'People go to Mumbles and they put things in their mouth and they mumble',' he said.
'Mumbles is beautiful but I can't understand anybody from Wales.'
