John Legend on ‘stupid’ booty calls

John Legend could only have a "booty call situation" with someone who was stupid.

The singer is preparing to marry model Chrissy Teigen, with their nuptials set to take place at Lake Como in Italy later this month. Although he is settled in his personal life, the musician has opened up about romance.

"Meeting at a nice restaurant, showing you have taste and class and having a great night. Once you're been together a while, I love a romantic meal at home with candlelight and lingerie," he told UK Cosmopolitan magazine about his ideal date night.

"If someone's not smart in some way, it can only go so far. It'd be just a booty-call situation. They must be able to get on with my friends and they need to have style."

John and Chrissy met while they were shooting the promo for his track Stereo in 2007. He cites that as their first date, although admits it was unlike any others he had been on.

"We met on one of my video shoots. It was kind of touchy-feely and like a very backwards introduction - before we even knew each other, we were feeling each other up! So that helped break the ice. It wasn't a proper date but it was sexy..." he laughed.

Although their initial meeting was fun, it's had an effect on their romance. John, 34, joked his 27-year-old fiancée is always a little concerned when he leaves to work on music videos.

"Yes - she knows how we met! But I'm very disciplined. I know where home is. We made a spoof video recently of her spying on me on a shoot and making sure I wasn't getting too frisky!" he giggled.
