Marc Anthony reportedly hated wife Jennifer Lopez being a sex symbol

The 42-year-old Latin singer is said to have “hated” his wife flaunting her famous curves in skimpy stage outfits.

Us Weekly reported that the couple, who have toddler twins Max and Emme, had argued during a photo-shoot for the magazine last year.

Sources say that Anthony had objected to a photo that he found “too sexy and unbecoming for a 40-year-old mother-of-two”.

Insiders claim that Anthony sought to control his superstar wife's fashion choices throughout their seven-year marriage.

'He would make her feel terrible about herself if she wanted to wear something sexy,' said a source. 'He likes her to dress in a demure 'wife' style. He hated the fact that she was a sex symbol.”

Another insider told the US magazine: 'Marc has always been a very dominating [sic] husband. He wants to control everything Jennifer does.'

The American Idol judge and Anthony shocked fans by calling time on their marriage last week.
