Nathan Sykes is "doing good" following an emergency throat operation.
The singer's The Wanted band mates reveal Nathan has been recuperating well thus far.
The 20-year-old star underwent the procedure in Los Angeles last month for a "haemorrhaging nodule".
"He's doing alright," Tom Parker revealed to E! News. "We won't know for another month or so until he actually makes a recovery and starts singing again. But obviously it's weird because we've never been apart.
"Chances are, he's going to be OK," added Max George.
Tom and Max, along with bandmates Siva Kaneswaran and Jay McGuiness have decided to carry on without Nathan for now and even have a tour coming up.
Nathan's future in the band remains uncertain and the condition could force the 20-year-old to give up his music career completely.
"There is always the worry there but he's only young so the chances are he's going to be okay," said Max. "But there's always the underlying worry there because it was a huge operation he had. But the signs have been really good so fingers crossed."
Jay revealed that Nathan has been getting the "best care" from specialists.
"He's definitely in better spirits than when he first came around," Jay shared. "He's always going to be part of the band."
The band are busy promoting their new reality show The Wanted Life which airs next month on E!
The Wanted are currently working on their third album.
