The Wanted take Swift tips

Max George thinks The Wanted should "take a leaf" out of Taylor Swift's book.

The boyband are currently promoting their new album Word of Mouth. While Max insists the new offering gives fans an insight into their emotions, he admits they could take inspiration from singer-songwriter Taylor – who is famed for pouring her whole heart into tunes.

"I think the first two albums were quite mainstream in the sense that there were a lot of upbeat tracks and we still have a party vibe to this album, but we felt it was time for us to share things that have happened in our personal lives considering that the fans have waited two years for this. It was time to tell a few stories about ourselves," he told Extra TV before being asked if the group would ever go to a 'Taylor Swift level of personal'. "I don't know about that! Although she has done alright so maybe we should take a leaf out of her book."

Max's bandmate Jay McGuiness went on to claim that guys have a harder time expressing their emotions. He believes it would be tough for them to really bare their souls for a song.

"It comes more naturally to girls, just a bit more," he said. "It takes more for a guy in a recording session to be like, 'So here is how heartbroken I was for that year.'"

Jay also confessed he isn't dating anyone at the moment. Revealing he has a crush on Paramore singer Hayley Williams, the 23-year-old heartthrob insists he is a great catch for any girl looking for love.

"I am currently the only single one," he said. "There were three of us, but then suddenly there was a very fruitful month and two guys got girlfriends. So I am the jewel in the crown."

When the other group members were quizzed on their celebrity crushes Max named Pamela Anderson, Tom Parker singled out Jennifer Lawrence, Siva Kaneswaran selected Jennifer Lopez, while Nathan Sykes chose his girlfriend Ariana Grande.
