Das Publikum, das langweilt sich, es muss was Neues her
Das hört sich einfach an, doch das ist meistens ziemlich schwer
Ein neues Lied entsteht nicht einfach von allein Man braucht erst mal 'ne Textidee, viel Zeit und Disziplin,
'ne kleine Melodie oder so zwei, drei Harmonien
Ich hab noch nichts davon und setz mich ans Klavier bei Kerzenschein
vielleicht fällt mir ja was ein Ich spiel drauf los und es formt sich eine Strophe und 'ne Bridge
Klingt gar nicht schlecht - Jetzt fehlt mir nur noch
ein Refrain mit Tiefgang und 'ner Portion Kitsch Doch der Refrain will irgendwie nicht kommen
Ich saug an meinen Fingern, doch es komm'n keine Ideen
Ich bin vom Grübeln schon total benommen
Den Refrain muss ich wohl erst mal übergeh'n Ich geh zurück zur Strophe, denke um und widme mich
Der Frage: Worum soll's denn eig'ntlich gehen, inhaltlich?
Ich brauch ein Thema, ich brauch irgendein Sujet Liebe, das geht immer; doch das gibt's auch schon zu oft

Ich könnte auf betroffen machen, doch das tät den Leuten weh
Und verkommt schnell zum Klischee Ich brauch 'ne greifbare Message, doch mein Kopf ist völlig leer
Die Melodie wär' soweit fertig,
es wäre schön, der Text käm' von selber hinterher Doch der Refrain will irgendwie nicht kommen

Immerhin ist die Musik schon mal ganz gut Wohlmöglich wird's sogar ein Hit, obwohl der Text so scheiße ist,
Im Radio und im Fernseh'n frisst man ja sonst auch den letzten Mist

You need an idea of the lyrics first, much time and discipline
A small melody or two or three harmonies
I have nothing of that yet and sit down at the piano in the candlelight

I just start to play and a stanza and a bridge start to exist
Doesn't sound so bad - now I just need
A thoughtful refrain that is sort of cheesy as well
But the refrain does not come to my mind
I get all nervous but there are no ideas left
I already start to feel dizzy from all the thinking
Seems like I first have to skip the refrain
I go back to the stanza, rethink the whole think and dedicate myself
To the question: What's its content it really about?
I need a topic, I need some suject
Love, that always works, but it also already exists many times

I could act affected but that would hurt the people
And soon it will be a cliché
I need some sort of tangible message, but my head is so empty
The melody seems ready
It would be good if the lyrics just followed on their own
But the refrain does not come to my mind
I get all nervous but there are no ideas left
I already start to feel dizzy from all the thinking
Seems like I first have to skip the refrain
I simply do not get any further and I think and think about it
There I suddenly hear it, somewhere at the back of my mind
It makes way through the fog and finally breaches the gate
I'll have it in a moment, I'm on the brink
I believe I'll stop in moment
Because the refrain does not come to my mind
I get all nervous but all I see is blood
I give up, see everything blurred
At least the music sounds good
Maybe this will even be a hit, though the lyrics suck
On the radio and on TV they also always like the trashy songs
